Wormie isn’t just a lamp; it’s a wall, floor, ceiling, and table light all in one. Its mouldable core lets you hand-shape Wormie to fit any combination of surfaces, making each Wormie as unique as your space, or as unique as you. 

Built with best-in-class materials—solid 304 stainless steel, glistening clear acrylic end caps, and an LED core encased in hi-fi audio-quality braided tubing—Wormie is made to last. Tremendous effort has been made to avoid any use of glue, ensuring that every single component of Wormie is repairable, replaceable, and upgradeable. so your Wormie can stay with you forever.

Dealing with electricity can be daunting, so I’ve kept it simple: plug Wormie into any power socket (globally) with its extra-long 3m cord and dim and control it any of the 3 included options—via on/off switch, wireless remote dimmer (free with pre-orders), or smartphone app (Wi-Fi). Of course Wormie can work as any normal hard-wired light fitting too. 

Because what’s the point of a light that can go anywhere if you can’t control it from anywhere, too?

Will Wormie fit in my space?

  • Rec. Distance between Endplates (Wormie 1.0m):  min. 30cm - 70cm max. 
  • Rec. Distance between Endplates (Wormie 1.5m):  min. 30cm - 110cm max.
  • Wormie Endplate Diameter = 13cm

Example: That means if you had a shoelace that was 70cm long, and you could connect the ends of that shoelace to any two points in your space, and draw a circle of 13cm at each end (representing each end plate), your Wormie will most likely fit. Wormie 1.5m shoelace length: 110cm.

Note: The wider you space the endplates apart, the less ‘shaping’ freedom you have - the difference between pulling the shoelace tight (straight line - no curves), and letting it hang loose (lots of possible shapes).


Tip: If you hold a piece of string up to the ceiling (or just let it dangle from your hands), you can see the natural 'parabola' arc that forms at different spacings, so you can then copy and replicate with your Wormie.

Can Wormie function like a regular off-the-shelf light fitting?

Yes, of course.

Simply cut the power cord close to the light and use cable strippers (or stanley knife) to reveal the blue and brown wires like a normal fitting.

Installation

Wormies have a rigid, but flexible LED core, meaning that if you bend the core into a shape - it will stay that way. Simply bend the core by hand to your desired shape, screw the end caps in the corresponding positions on the wall/ceiling/table, press core ends into the end caps, and the outer spiral tube slides over and twist-locks onto the end caps -voila!

Each Wormie will be provided with screws and plugs necessary for installation, as well as the Remote and batteries for wireless control.

Pre-Order FAQ

When can I expect to receive my Wormie?

I am aiming for Shipping the Wormies from my Workshop in Rotterdam, Netherlands around end of September 2024. I will update everyone periodically as it becomes more precise. It is entirely possible that I am ready to ship earlier than August, but it's also possible that there could be a delay - just the nature of bringing a product to market. I will always communicate the reasons and there is always the opportunity to get a refund in any case.

Once Shipped, depending on your destination country, it will range from 1-5 days (Europe), and 9-23 days (Rest of World). I will send more specific time frames per country closer to Ship Date.

Refundable? In what Way?

I mean 100% fully refundable, no questions asked. I don't like the idea of locking people in to something too harshly, because I am also asking you to take a small leap of faith with me. Even though I am confident you'll be stoked with yoour Wormie, I do like giving you the assurance that you're not stuck.

So, when you make a pre-order you can cancel it for a full refund at any time before the Aug 2024 Ship Date (will communicate the exact date of that in the coming months). Just send me an email or message and I will arrange it immediately.

If you'd like to transfer the money you have paid for a pre-order to another product I am developing in the next 4 months, that is also no problem - just let me know.

Why would I Pre-order instead of just waiting for release?

There is more info on the "Pre-Order" page here, but in short - the pre-order helps fund the development of the product itself, so I can make sure that you receive something that's:

  1. Very good quality,
  2. As sexy as you expect,
  3. Should last a long time.

Can I exchange my purchase for a different product if you release something different in the meantime?

Yes! If you see something that I tease or develop in the coming few months and you prefer that, then we can easily exchange the value you have paid for the new product.

Is it as cool as it looks?

Yes. A Wormie really has a serious presence in a room. Kind of like you have to see it in person. So Yes.
